What’s our….
WHY?
WHY?
Songwriting is healing. Music shifts an atmosphere.
For generations, music has been used to help heal, empower, and uplift so many. There’s a reason we were created to sing and use our voice to bring about real change and power. Songs of Safety was started as a way to use the practice of songwriting to empower communities that often go overlooked, unseen, and do not have access to music education. Therefore, we set up songwriting workshops and offer the gift of songwriting as a way to team build, express one’s heart, and to remind them that their voice matters and deserves to be heard.
FOUNDER - MG SMITH
“Hey y’all! My name is MG Smith and I am so honored that you are taking the time to explore and learn more about Songs Of Safety! This project came to life through an experience I had with female survivors at Nashville local nonprofit, “Healing House”. After accidentally volunteering myself to host a songwriting night for the women my freshman year of college, my life was never the same. In that moment, I watched the simple love for songwriting the Lord had given me become a way that others may share their story and see their worth and belovedness in an entirely new and tangible way. After that I was sold on the idea that I could simply help others discover the songs and songwriter within themselves that this world desperately needs.
Thank you for all the support, prayers, and kindness shown to us! We are just getting started!”
