We believe songwriting can be more than creating music.

It can be an act of listening.
An act of service.
An invitation to tell the truth.
A reminder that someone's story matters.

SongCatchers are Christian songwriters who use their creative gifts to listen to, serve, and write alongside people in communities that are often overlooked or unheard.

You don't have to have all the answers. You don't have to be the loudest person in the room.

You just have to be willing to listen.

What Does a SongCatcher Do?

SongCatchers partner with Songs of Safety to participate in collaborative songwriting experiences with local nonprofits, ministries, and communities.

Together, we create space for participants to:

• Share their stories, hopes, struggles, and dreams

• Explore their experiences through songwriting

• Discover and use their own voice

• Collaborate with Christian songwriters

• Create a song that reflects something true about their story

As a SongCatcher, your role isn't to come in with a song already written.

You come ready to catch the song that's already there.

The SongCatcher Journey

01 — Apply

Fill out our SongCatcher interest form and tell us a little about yourself, your songwriting experience, and why you're interested in serving through Songs of Safety.

02 — Connect

We'll invite interested songwriters to an informal coffee or conversation to get to know you, hear your story, and answer questions about the ministry.

03 — Gather

You'll join a SongCatcher interest meeting where we'll talk more about our mission, workshop model, expectations, and heart behind the ministry.

04 — Get Paired

As opportunities arise, we'll connect SongCatchers with nonprofit and ministry partners based on their community, needs, and the gifts of our writers.

05 — Write & Listen

You'll join a collaborative songwriting workshop and help create a safe space for people to share their stories and turn those stories into songs.

06 — Share

At the end of the experience, we celebrate what was created and the people whose stories made the song possible.

Who Is a SongCatcher?

You might be a SongCatcher if you...

Love Jesus and love people.
You want your creativity to be an expression of your faith and a way to serve others.

Love songwriting.
You don't have to be a professional songwriter, but you should have experience writing songs and be comfortable collaborating with others.

Know how to listen.
A SongCatcher isn't there to take over the room. We believe listening is one of the most important parts of the process.

You're willing to enter someone else's world with humility, curiosity, and respect.
